Saturday Program

Thematic Unit

In each semester, students learn Korean language and culture under a thematic unit by integrating STEM topics through a variety of lessons and activities in Project-Based Learning approach. Students are guided to set their own goals each semester under the theme, and teachers provide differentiated instruction to reach their individual goals by using authentic materials that are appropriate to each student’s proficiency level.

Public Speaking & Presentation Skills

Students practice presenting what they have learned regularly through our program. They create Google Slides (3-5th graders) or ScratchJr projects by drawing pictures and/or adding texts or other effects for audience to understand about their topic easily. Teachers carefully monitor students’ progress on public speaking and encourage them to present their projects clearly with confidence.

Collaborative Play

During each semester, students create a play based on a Korean folk tale or a story of the Korean historical figures that is related to the theme of the semester. Students read books of the story together, choose the character that they want to play, then create their own lines of the characters with the help of our teachers. Students perform their own play at the end of each semester for their parents and friends.

Cultural Activities

We provide a variety cultural activities such as K-pop dance, music, cooking, and art and craft under the theme of each semester. Outcomes of activities are then used as parts of the collaborative play.
